SUMMARY:ABNY Talks: NYC Commission on Government Efficiency (COGE) Ballot Measures
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our next ABNY Talks\, where we’ll examine the work of the New York City Commission on Government Efficiency (COGE) and the five charter proposals it has advanced to voters. Together\, the measures take aim at some of the most persistent issues in City government: the time it takes to activate public space and open outdoor dining\, the contracting and procurement process that small businesses and nonprofits navigate\, the pace of street safety infrastructure\, and the maze of building permitting approvals. \nCOGE Chair Patrick Gaspard and Executive Director Ann Cheng will sit down with ABNY CEO Emma Pfohman for a wide-ranging conversation about the Commission’s charge\, what a top-to-bottom review of the City Charter surfaced\, the tradeoffs behind each proposal. \nDoors will open at 8:30a for coffee reception\, and the program will begin at 9:00a. \nPlease contact cpurkey@abny.org for accessibility accomodations. In all situations\, a good faith effort will be made to provide accomodations. \nEvent sponsorship opportunities are available. If you are interested in sponsoring\, please contact ABNY to learn more!
