DESCRIPTION:We are excited to invite you to a tour of Eastern Generation’s Astoria Generating Station on Friday\, June 10\, from 9-10:30 a.m. Liam Baker\, Vice President\, Regulatory Affairs\, and Matt Schwall\, Director\, Regulatory Affairs\, will lead the tour of the 959 MW fuel oil and natural gas plant consisting of five generating units. The plant is part of a larger complex that is comprised of approximately 300 acres\, most of which is used for various utility purposes including power generation\, indoor storage\, oil storage\, liquefied natural gas storage\, vehicle storage and servicing\, and office space.If you are interested\, please sign up here by close of business Tuesday\, June 7. Please note\, space is limited and attendees will be selected at random. All entrants will be notified by Thursday\, June 9\, regardless of whether or not they have been selected.Attendees should wear appropriate clothing for a power plant\, i.e. long pants and closed toe shoes (no open toe shoes or heels). Eastern Generation will provide hardhats\, eye protection\, and ear protection upon arrival.

DESCRIPTION:ABNY Young Professionals\, in partnership with Regional Plan Association (RPA)\, invite you to attend a Policy Brief on Gateway and the Post-Covid Economy on Tuesday\, June 28 from 6-7:30 p.m. at RPA\, One Whitehall St 16th Floor\, New York\, NY 10004. \nYPs will get an insider look at RPA’s recently released report\, Gateway and the Post-COVID Economy: Scenarios for Future Growth and Trans-Hudson Travel. Brian Fritsch will frame the discussion\, walking the audience through what the Gateway Program is and isn’t. Following that\, his colleagues Christopher Jones and Tiffany-Ann Taylor will discuss how RPA developed future scenarios\, underlying economic predictions\, and methodology. Finally\, the speakers will address practical and political hurdles the project faces and upcoming milestones. \nPlease RSVP and submit your questions for the panelists by end of day Thursday\, June 23.
