DESCRIPTION:Join ABNY Young Professionals for a walking tour of the QueensWay on April 30 at 6:00 p.m. \nThe QueensWay is a community-led effort to transform an abandoned\, 3.5 mile stretch of abandoned railway in Central Queens into a linear park and cultural greenway. We’ll tour both phase 1\, the Metropolitan Hub which received $37.5 million from Mayor Eric Adams and the New York City Council and the Forest Park Pass section which was recently awarded a $117 million Reconnecting Communities grant through the Federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. \n“When the QueensWay is completed\, neighborhoods will be re-connected\, air quality will be improved\, and local businesses will get a much-needed boost\,” says Friends of the QueensWay’s Travis Terry. “Rails-to-trails projects work and residents will finally have a safe and beautiful place to bike\, jog\, or take a stroll.” \nIf you are interested in joining the tour\, please sign up here by 12:00pm on Tuesday\, April 23.
