DESCRIPTION:Please join us for ​the ABNY Young Professionals 10th anniversary celebration on Tuesday\, October 12 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Dock 72 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. \nIn 2011\, the Association for a Better New York launched the ABNY Young Professionals network with the aim to engage and inform younger New Yorkers about the importance of civic participation through social events\, educational programming\, and philanthropic initiatives. This celebration will be cohosted by ABNY YP Chair Michael Rudin and former ABNY Executive Director Jen Hensley. Two lucky attendees will win a raffle for roundtrip airline vouchers\, sponsored by Southwest Airlines. Join us as we toast this important milestone\, dance along to DJ Dynamite Black\, and catch up with YPs old and new! \nIf you ​able to join us\, please RSVP below by Friday\, October 8. SUMMARY:ABNY YP Tour: East Side Access (ESA)
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to invite you to a hard hat tour of the MTA’s East Side Access project on Wednesday\, October 13 from 9:30-11:30 AM. \nEast Side Access (ESA) is expanding\, strengthening\, and adding redundancy to New York’s regional rail network\, and modernizing crucial infrastructure. When complete\, ESA will enable direct access to a brand new concourse and terminal on the east side of Manhattan for riders on all 11 branches of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR)\, easing overcrowding in and around Penn Station and connecting the region like never before. The tour leader will guide the group through the new Madison Concourse and Manhattan terminal stopping at points of interest along the way. \nIf you are interested\, please sign up here by Monday\, October 4. Please note\, space is limited and attendees will be selected at random. All entrants will be notified by Tuesday\, October 5\, regardless of whether or not they have been selected. \nIn addition to standard personal protective equipment\, each participant must also wear a mask throughout the tour.
