DESCRIPTION:You have been cordially invited to participate in a focus group session with the “New” New York Panel on Tuesday\, July 19 at 10 a.m. Part of the panel’s process is reaching out to experts and stakeholders\, like you\, to hear their perspectives on relevant topics (economic resilience\, inclusive opportunity\, street vibrancy\, urban mobility\, building/district use)\, for the city’s business districts (including but not limited to Midtown Manhattan). \nThe “New” New York Panel\, convened by Mayor Eric Adams and Governor Kathy Hochul\, is tasked with developing strategies for the recovery and resilience of the city’s commercial districts—in response to challenges stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic\, and longstanding and systemic challenges facing New York City and the region. Its core objective is to create vibrant\, strong\, and inclusive business districts in NYC\, through the lenses of place\, industry\, and people. \nThe Zoom link will be shared the day before the event via email.

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to present a new ABNY Volunteers opportunity this summer at Hudson River Park (HRPK). Please join us on Saturday\, July 23\, from 9:00 AM -12:00 PM\, to participate in a gardening and horticulture maintenance project at the Clinton Cove section of HRPK (even with 55th Street). ABNY volunteers will engage in a team-building activity connecting the Park and the West side community and learn more about the Hudson River Park’s unique urban ecology\, volunteerism\, and park stewardship.If you are interested\, please sign up here by Wednesday\, July 20. Volunteers will receive confirmations by Friday\, July 22. The volunteering will take place outside in the park and volunteers will be asked to complete a short waiver. Water\, gloves\, and sunscreen will be provided. We hope that you can join us!

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to invite you to a tour of the eight-acre master planned Manhattan West development with a special hard hat tour of Two Manhattan West on Wednesday\, July 27 from 5-7:00 p.m.YP Steering Committee Member Laura Montross\, Director of Communications at Brookfield Properties\, will lead the tour. The 7 million square foot development is nearing completion\, with its final skyscraper\, Two Manhattan West\, slated to open in early 2023. Developed by Brookfield Properties and designed by Skidmore\, Owings & Merrill\, Manhattan West features 4 office buildings\, a residential tower\, boutique hotel\, dozens of new restaurants\, bars and cafes\, and a 2.5-acre public plaza. Following the tour\, the group will convene for drinks at one of Manhattan West’s new bars\, Chez Zou.If you are interested\, please sign up here by 9:00 a.m. Friday\, July 22. Please note\, space is limited and attendees will be selected at random. All entrants will be notified by Monday\, July 25\, regardless of whether or not they have been selected.Attendees should wear appropriate clothing for a hard hat tour\, i.e. long pants and closed toe shoes.
