DESCRIPTION:The City of New York contracts nearly $20 billion in human services each year\, with the vast majority delivered by nonprofit providers across the five boroughs. Nonprofits manage our homeless shelters\, 3-K and Pre-K programs\, senior centers\, immigration legal assistance\, job training programs\, food pantries\, and more. DESCRIPTION:The ABNY Foundation established the Spirit of ABNY Award in 2007 to honor outstanding New Yorkers whose work and contributions to the city exemplify ABNY’s ethos of partnership and stewardship of New York City. \nEach year\, the Foundation also presents the Lew Rudin Founder’s Award to an individual who has made exceptional civic contributions\, in memory of ABNY’s first chairman. Introduced in 2021\, the David N. Dinkins Lifetime Achievement Award honors a New Yorker with exemplary record of service to New York City over their career. Proceeds from the Spirit of ABNY Awards support social\, educational\, and civic programs that enhance life across New York City’s five boroughs. \nThe ABNY Foundation’s Spirit of ABNY Awards funds social\, educational\, and civic initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the five boroughs of New York City.
