Join ABNY Young Professionals for an exclusive tour of NYC’s Department of Transportation Sign Shop on Tuesday, March 4th 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
NYC DOT’s Sign Shop creates the street signs installed throughout the five boroughs of New York City. These signs serve a variety of purposes, including curbside parking regulations, intersection control signs, guide signs, and street names signs.
The tour will focus on showing how NYC street signs are made from start to finish. We will start with how it is cut from a sheet of blank aluminum to how it is silk screened or printed. The whole process will be described and physically done in front of the group.
Please note that this is a MORNING tour. If you are interested in joining the tour, please sign up by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21. Please note space is limited with attendees selected by lottery. All who signed up will be notified by end of day Monday, February 24, whether they have been selected to participate or not.
