ABNY celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by bringing together leaders to discuss key issues facing Hispanic Latinx communities in New York City including education, affordable housing, health care, and criminal justice reform. Speakers included Vincent Alvarez, President, AFL-CIO New York City Central Labor Council; Marlene Cintron, President, Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation; Carmen De La Rosa, Candidate for NYC Council District 10; Dr. Félix V. Matos Rodríguez, Chancellor, City University of New York (CUNY) and Ritchie Torres, then Candidate for U.S. Congressional District NY-15. The panel was introduced by ABNY Foundation Board member Tonio Burgos, Chief Executive Officer, Tonio Burgos & Associates, and moderated by ABNY Member Aimee J. Vargas, Vice President, Communications & Community Affairs.
