Join ABNY Young Professionals for a walking tour of the QueensWay on April 30 at 6:00 p.m.
The QueensWay is a community-led effort to transform an abandoned, 3.5 mile stretch of abandoned railway in Central Queens into a linear park and cultural greenway. We’ll tour both phase 1, the Metropolitan Hub which received $37.5 million from Mayor Eric Adams and the New York City Council and the Forest Park Pass section which was recently awarded a $117 million Reconnecting Communities grant through the Federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
“When the QueensWay is completed, neighborhoods will be re-connected, air quality will be improved, and local businesses will get a much-needed boost,” says Friends of the QueensWay’s Travis Terry. “Rails-to-trails projects work and residents will finally have a safe and beautiful place to bike, jog, or take a stroll.”
If you are interested in joining the tour, please sign up here by 12:00pm on Tuesday, April 23. Please note, space is limited with attendees selected by lottery. All who signed up will be notified by end of day on Wednesday, April 24 if they have been selected to participate or not.
