SOLD OUT: ABNY Talks: Reimagining New York City’s Nonprofit Contracting System

April 14 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

The City of New York contracts nearly $20 billion in human services each year, with the vast majority delivered by nonprofit providers across the five boroughs. Nonprofits manage our homeless shelters, 3-K and Pre-K programs, senior centers, immigration legal assistance, job training programs, food pantries, and more. Yet many nonprofits face bureaucratic hurdles and chronic delays in contract payments.

Improving the efficiency, reliability, and transparency of the contracting and payment process is critical to ensuring these partners can deliver high-quality services to New Yorkers.

Join us for a solutions-oriented conversation with key government and nonprofit leaders on how to reimagine the City’s contracting system, reduce administrative burdens, and better support these critical organizations.

Opening remarks will be given by Dr. Helen Arteaga Landaverde, Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services, followed by a panel conversation with:

  • Michael Sedillo, Executive Director, NYC Mayors Office of Nonprofit Services
  • Charlette Hamamgian, Deputy Comptroller for Contract Administration, NYC Comptroller’s Office
  • Michelle Jackson, Executive Director, Human Services Council of New York
  • Lincoln Restler, City Council Member & Contracts Committee Chair

Additional panelists to be announced shortly.

Doors will open at 8:30a for coffee reception, and the program will begin at 9:00a.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Zina Robbins-Maldonado at zmaldonado@abny.org.
