I’m insanely lucky. My network of friends, former classmates, and coworkers has gotten me every job I’ve ever had. Stay in touch with people whose work you admire! Great jobs don’t just fall into people’s laps, but they do sometimes fall *out* of other people’s laps.
Professionally: my career dedicated to democratizing access to great tech jobs for New Yorkers. Personally: the kindness and resilience of my two kids, Ivy (7) and Gus (4).
Workforce development in general is a numbers game, so always use hard data when showing how the current status quo is inequitable or unsustainable in some way.
It’s either when I realized 1) you can just ask the NYFD to turn fire hydrants into sprinklers for kids to play in during hot summer days, or 2) I had needlessly intense opinions about bagels.

My journey in the telecommunications industry began as a newcomer eager to learn, straight out of college. At Crown Castle, I was quickly immersed and exposed to the industry’s complexities, and I had the privilege of working alongside some of the smartest and most driven colleagues. I was able to learn quickly and absorb a wealth of knowledge from them while also picking up on their best practices. I also owe a lot of gratitude to the exceptional leaders and mentors who have provided invaluable insights, support, and encouragement throughout my years. Their passion and expertise have been influential in shaping my own leadership style and career perspective.
I am extremely proud of the development and growth of the team I have the pleasure of leading at Crown Castle. Their dedication, perseverance and team-driven attitude is visible through their work and watching them evolve professionally and personally has been incredibly rewarding. Being a part of their journey, providing guidance and support, and seeing their achievements has been the most fulfilling aspect of my career thus far.
As in any industry, building relationships with everyone you meet is important-but especially in the telecommunications field, connections really matter. It’s a small but mighty industry and you never know how someone you meet could impact your career down the line—as a boss, colleague, or even a customer. Also because of how fast this industry moves, staying curious and informed while doing your own research is major to keep yourself as prepared as possible.
When I began judging my colleagues for ordering their bagels toasted. (The correct answer is untoasted.)
